Kim Byung-man‘s side “Habitual assault of ex-wife sent to prosecution? Groundless” Conflicting positions [Comprehensive]
On the 12th, it was first reported that Kim Byung-man’s ex-wife A confessed to Kim Byung-man‘s habitual assault and that Kim Byung-man was currently being sent to the prosecution on charges of assault.
Last October, Kim Byung-man appeared on Channel A’s ‘Intimate Friends Documentary - Table for 4’ and said that they separated a year after their marriage in 2011 and that they divorced after about 10 years of separation through a lawsuit.
Also, Ms. A sued Kim Byung-man for habitual assault and domestic violence during their marriage, and the police sent Kim Byung-man to the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors’ Office on charges of assault in July. Ms. A claimed, “I was beaten habitually. My daughter has seen me get beaten four times. When I was good, I treated him like a princess or queen. After that, he beat me so brutally.”
Regarding this, Kim Byung-man‘s agency Sky Turtle denied Kim Byung-man’s domestic assault, stating, “In the divorce lawsuit, Ms. A claimed that Kim Byung-man assaulted her during their marriage, but the court did not accept it. At the time she claimed to have been assaulted, Kim Byung-man was overseas.”
He continued, “Mr. A made false claims in order to gain the upper hand in the lawsuit,” and added, “It was not recognized in court at the time of the divorce lawsuit, and the prosecution also decided not to prosecute,” and added that the assault charges being sent to the prosecution were “groundless.”
He continued, “Mr. A has a child. Kim Byung-man has to give up the child as the divorce lawsuit is over. Mr. A demanded 3 billion won from Kim Byung-man under this condition. His ex-wife was in charge of managing the assets. So they should divide the assets, but in order to avoid paying them, she falsely accused Kim Byung-man.” He repeatedly emphasized his position.
