Chef Ahn Sung-jae, who gained sensational popularity on ‘Black and White Chef’, is introducing the ‘Korean Jang-dak-geu’ culture.
He joined hands with Professor Seo Kyung-deok of Sungshin Women‘s University to commemorate the registration of Korea’s Jang-dak-geu culture as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
On the 5th, Professor Seo Kyung-deok‘s side released a video titled ‘Tradition Continues’, stating that it is being widely spread overseas beyond Korea.
This 6-minute video was jointly planned with Daesang, and is going viral through YouTube and other social media. Chef Ahn Sung-jae himself appeared and narrated.
Chef Ahn Sung-jae has always had a deep interest in traditional Korean soy sauce, and he participated to help spread the infinite possibilities and value of soy sauce.
The main content of this video is an honest interview with the lives and stories of four gochujang artisans who have continued the tradition in Sunchang-gun.
Professor Seo said, “Interest in Korean food is hot all over the world,” and “This is the best time to introduce soy sauce, the basic ingredient of Korean food, to the world.”
