Actress Jang Na-ra confessed to being in the worst health condition during the peak of her career.
In a video titled ‘Nara, were you this kind of character..? You‘re really so lovable’, released on the Chae Jung-an YouTube channel on the 12th, Jang Na-ra said, “I almost gave up on the album because I didn’t get a good response,” and recalled the response to her debut song at the time, saying, “I almost buried my face in tears. You have to choose a good title.”
She then added, “But when I appeared on the sitcom ‘New Nonstop’, they played the song for me, and the album came alive.”
However, she said, “My stamina was terrible. My liver function wasn‘t normal,” and “My body was ruined with gastric ulcers and intestinal perforation, but I lived as best I could,” mentioning the schedule and sense of responsibility she had to deal with due to her immense popularity.
Regarding winning the Top 10 Singer Award, she said, “I was lucky. There were people who helped me wherever I went, so I was just thankful at a time,” and added, “It’s the same now. That‘s why I keep working. The fact that work comes in is a blessing in itself.”
She also explained why she dreamed of becoming an actress, saying, “When I was young, my dad was a stage actor, so I was exposed to him often,” and shared an anecdote, saying, “I wanted to win while watching my dad act. I copied everything my dad did.”
Jang Na-ra married a camera director who is six years younger than her in 2022. This year, she received much love for her passionate performance as a divorce litigation lawyer in the SBS drama “Good Partner.”
