“It feels like my arms are bending inward. I‘m instinctively drawn to works made by Korean-Americans and those friends. I’ve had several meetings with director Lee Sung-jin, and he told me that he wanted to tell a story through me. It‘s interesting because he has a different perspective from Korean directors. In Korea, I’m usually cast to play the role of a grandmother. But since they‘ve lived in a completely different world, their perspective on me is quite different. It’s not that I’m greedy for something else, but I think that at the last moment, I’d like to just get out of this hospital and walk. Being an actor is my daily life. That’s why I want to do my best in any role that comes to me. That‘s how I live my daily life.
