Actress Shin Min-a is drawing attention by sharing her warm heart during the holiday season.
Last year, Shin Min-a donated 300 million won to the Hallym Burn Foundation, Seoul Asan Medical Center, and other organizations to which she donates every year. This is her 15th year since she began sharing in 2009.
Shin Min-a has quietly supported people in difficult circumstances, from children to the elderly, in the hope that they can dream of a healthy future in a healthy environment.
In particular, she has been helping burn patients for 10 years since 2015 after hearing about their stories, such as those who have low social awareness and cannot even think about surgery or receive proper treatment due to enormous medical expenses.
In the case of burn patients, not only do they need multiple surgeries over several years, but it also takes a long time for their skin tissue to recover, so one-time help is truly great and appreciated, but continuous attention and help are desperately needed.
Accordingly, Shin Min-a has donated a total of 1 billion won, 100 million won per year, to the ‘Hanlim Burn Foundation’ to help 201 burn patients so far, and 18 children and women burn patients in 2024 alone, receive treatment and surgery.
In addition, Shin Min-a has supported projects such as supporting study room teachers for underprivileged children, providing heating costs for the elderly living alone, and supporting North Korean defector women and children. She has also been at the forefront of sharing in overseas support projects, extending a helping hand without fail when social disasters such as COVID-19 damage, wildfires, and flood damage occurred.
In recognition of her contributions, Shin Min-a won the ‘Good People Artist Award’ at the ‘14th Beautiful Artist Awards’ last year. She said, “I will donate the precious prize money I received today to those in difficult circumstances who need a helping hand.” He also gave the prize money to be used for students in the Department of Theater at Dongguk University, his alma mater.
