She confessed her struggles, saying, “I wanted to ignore it. Now, I have to take insulin for the rest of my life, have to restrict my diet, and be careful of complications. These are unfamiliar words that even I didn‘t know about.”

She continued, “I finally found the reason (for getting diabetes) today. I want to be of some use to people in the same situation as me.” She added, “One day, I heard the sad news about a family member with type 1 diabetes on the news, and my heart ached so much. I wouldn’t have known the pain, financial burden, and difficulties in social life if I hadn‘t experienced it.”

She then vowed, “I will find a better solution, one by one, for the families and people with type 1 diabetes, not for myself.”

She asked countless times. Why me? Why me? Why?

I was diagnosed with diabetes 3 years ago, when I was confident that I had been healthy for 3 years. It was type 1 diabetes!

I wanted to ignore it. I really wanted to say that I would have to take insulin for the rest of my life, restrict my diet, and be careful of complications. I didn’t even know that.

But today, I finally found the reason. I wanted to be of some use to people in the same situation as me, and to live as such.

My heart ached so much when I heard the sad news of a family with type 1 diabetes on the news one day. I wouldn‘t have known about the pain, financial burden, and difficulties in social life if I hadn’t experienced it myself.

I need to find a better solution, one by one, for the families and people with type 1 diabetes, not for myself.

If you knock, it will open. Until it opens, I will knock on the problem of providing support and benefits. Let‘s do it!
