The late Song Jae-rim‘s posthumous film ‘Plummet’ has confirmed its release on January 15, 2025 and has released a teaser poster image.

‘Plummet’ is a crime drama based on the true story of the virtual currency crash that shook the world with the loss of 50 trillion won. It depicts the dark side of startup investment and the reality of young people addicted to stocks during the day and coin speculation at night through the chronicle of a young entrepreneur who makes an irreversible choice.

As you can see in the released teaser poster, Song Jae-rim plays the main character Yang Do-hyun, a self-proclaimed business genius and a cryptocurrency developer named Money (MOMMY).

Movie This movie is based on a true story that has left many victims and has not yet reached a final judgment by the judiciary, so it received thorough preliminary investigation and meticulous review and legal advice based on legal cases. It is a work supported by the New Media Content Division of the Korea Creative Content Agency.

Director Hyun Hae-ri, who directed ‘The Woman Who Only Worked as a Contract Worker 9 Times’, which was well-received at the Cannes International Drama Festival, and a former PD for current affairs and cultural programs who has directed many reportages with social accusation messages, took the megaphone. Director Hyun stated his directing intentions as, “I will try to make it as realistic as possible while also being sharp and incorporating elements of black comedy.”
