The family comedy film ‘Ghost Cop’, the last work of the late Kim Soo-mi, has confirmed its release in 2025 and released its first poster.

‘Ghost Cop’ depicts what happens when a cop gains minor abilities after being struck by lightning out of the blue and gets entangled with his family and unexpected incidents.

Above all, this film is drawing attention as it is the third time that Shin Hyun-joon and the late Kim Soo-mi have worked together as father and son, following the ‘Barefoot Kibong’ and ‘Family‘s Glory’ series. Known for their relationship that goes beyond mother and son, the two plan to show off their natural ad-libs, witty banter, and perfect tiki-taka. Also, Jung Joon-ho, who is well known as a long-time friend of Shin Hyun-joon, is expected to make a special appearance and bring laughter to the audience with his ‘Real Friend Vibe’.

In the drama, Shin Hyun-joon plays a legendary police officer who went downhill after a case, and while living with his mother with his daughter, he is struck by lightning and develops a minor ability. Kim Soo-mi appears as the owner of a famous sundae soup restaurant in the neighborhood, a tough woman who lives with her lacking son and only granddaughter, who makes her sigh every time she sees him. In addition, Jung Joon-ho will appear as a gangster who is the main culprit who sent the main police officer downhill and is his arch-rival, showing a different side of himself.

The first poster that was released announced that it is the first family comedy of the new year with the copy ‘Let’s laugh in January 2025~’, and also contained the production team‘s hope that everyone in Korea will laugh in the new year. In addition, the copy above the title, ‘A minor ability has been developed’, raises curiosity about what abilities and happenings will occur.
