Coupang Play series ‘Newtopia’, starring actors Park Jung-min and Blackpink‘s Jisoo, has confirmed its release on February 7, 2025 (8 p.m.) and released its first press stills, raising expectations.
Directed by Yoon Sung-hyun, who created the films ‘The Watchman’ and ‘Time to Hunt’, ‘Newtopia’ is the story of soldier Jae-yoon (Park Jung-min) and bear-skinned Yeong-ju (Jisoo) running toward each other through downtown Seoul attacked by zombies.

The released press stills foreshadow a dynamic story, capturing the happy times of late-blooming soldier Jae-yoon and his rubber-shoe girlfriend Yeong-ju, to a world thrown into chaos by a zombie attack. Jae-yoon lives in a high-rise building in downtown Seoul where his unit is located. The tension between the tower and the zombies is rising, raising expectations for the dynamic action that will unfold. Young-ju, who is running through the middle of the streets of Gangnam, looks surprised as if she is in a great crisis, making us wonder about the zombie attack that will come at her. In addition, the young and powerful synergy created by the unique characters who are active in their own spaces, in the high-rise tower and in the middle of downtown Seoul, is drawing attention.

The released stills also show the chemistry between Park Jung-min and Ji-soo. From their time as a loving couple to becoming a soldier and a bear god, they are the first to think of each other even in desperate situations. The more you watch, the more you wonder whether the two who will perfectly write the story of a couple that becomes more affectionate as they run a short yet long distance will be able to meet again.
Meanwhile, ‘Newtopia’ will also be released in over 240 countries and regions through Prime Video.
