Song Joong-ki left Korea, rough and shabby face… Main trailer for ‘Bogota’ released

The main trailer for the movie ‘Bogota: Land of Last Chance’ has been released.

‘Bogota: Land of Last Chance’ is a movie that depicts the story of Guk-hee (Song Joong-ki), who heads to Bogota, Colombia, on the other side of the world with new hope right after the IMF, and gets entangled with Soo-young (Lee Hee-joon) and Byeong-jang Park (Kwon Hae-hyo), the powerful figures in the Korean community in Bogota.

The main trailer that was released this time begins with Guk-hee‘s family who left for Colombia in search of new hope after the 1997 IMF crisis. Yellow taxis, soldiers stationed at the airport, military dogs, and other scenes that are not easily seen in Korea vividly convey the unfamiliar atmosphere of an unfamiliar land and raise expectations for the new spectacle that will be the first Korean film to be set in Colombia.

However, the excitement is short-lived, as Gook-hee’s father Geun-tae (Kim Jong-soo) has his bag containing all his belongings stolen by a gun-wielding robber, and 19-year-old Gook-hee runs with all his might to retrieve it, foreshadowing that his life will be filled with turbulent events from now on.

Gook-hee, who helps with smuggling work under Sergeant Park, the most powerful figure in the Korean community in Bogota, earns Sergeant Park‘s trust with her earnestness that will not hesitate to go through fire and water, and Soo-young, the number two man in the smuggling market, also takes notice of Gook-hee. Here, Sergeant Park tests Gook-hee’s loyalty by giving her a mission to bring Soo-young‘s belongings to him, and Soo-young gives off a dangerous vibe by saying, “Shall I make you an offer, hyung?”

Amidst curiosity about what choice Gook-hee will make, there is also Sergeant Park’s nephew, Jang Sa-jang (Park Ji-hwan), who dominates the Korean community, and Soo-young‘s loyal junior, Jae-woong (Cho Hyun-chul). The fierce power struggles among the various characters surrounding the Bogota Korean community and the smuggling market heighten the tension.

Gook-hee’s fierce gaze as he subdues his opponent by saying in fluent Spanish, “I have neither money nor belongings to share with a thief like you,” shows a sharp contrast to his appearance when he first arrived in Bogota, and arouses curiosity about what has happened to him since then. Lastly, Guk-hee‘s line, “I have to get to District 6 alive,” filled with determination, adds to the interest in where his arduous journey from the lowest to the highest place will end.

The film ‘Bogota: Land of Last Chance’, which is raising expectations with the story of the fierce lives of those running towards success in the unfamiliar land of Bogota, the immersive acting of trustworthy actors such as Song Joong-ki, Lee Hee-joon, Kwon Hae-hyo, Park Ji-hwan, Jo Hyun-chul, and Kim Jong-soo, and the hot synergy, is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 31.
