Coupang Play series ‘Newtopia’ has confirmed its release on Friday, February 7th next year and has released its first press stills.

‘Newtopia’ is the story of soldier Jae-yoon and bear-skinned Yeong-ju running towards each other through downtown Seoul that has been attacked by zombies.

The released press stills foreshadow a dynamic story, capturing the happy times of late-blooming soldier ‘Jae-yoon (Park Jung-min)’ and his rubber shoe-wearing girlfriend ‘Yeong-ju (Ji-soo)’ to a world in turmoil due to a zombie attack. Jae-yoon faces a tense situation filled with zombies in the high-rise tower where his unit is located in downtown Seoul, raising expectations for the dynamic action that will unfold in the future.

Yeong-ju, who is wandering around the middle of the streets of Gangnam, has a surprised expression as if she is facing a great crisis, making us wonder about the attack of the zombies that will come at her. In addition, the young and powerful synergy created by the unique characters who are active in their own spaces, in the high-rise tower and in the middle of downtown Seoul, focuses attention.


In the released stills, you can also catch a glimpse of the sweet chemistry between Park Jung-min and Ji-soo. From their time as lovely lovers in the past to becoming a soldier and a bear god, they are the first to think of each other even in a desperate situation. Will the two who will portray the story of a heartbreaking couple be able to reunite?

Meanwhile, the Coupang Play series ‘Newtopia’, which will bring about a new wind of next-generation K-zombie, is garnering anticipation with the meeting between Park Jung-min and Ji-soo, and the touching directing of Yoon Sung-hyun, who has received attention for ’Time to Hunt’, ‘The Watchman’.
