Actor Shin Hyun-joon expressed his deep affection for the late Kim Soo-mi.
On the 11th, Shin Hyun-joon left a message on his SNS, saying, “I miss you. Mother. Just as you wished, I hope that many people who are tired of everyday life will be able to laugh comfortably while watching this movie and feel the importance of family once again... I also hope so.“
Along with this, the first poster for the late Kim Soo-mi‘s posthumous work ‘Ghost Police’, which is scheduled to be released in January next year, was released.
Shin Hyun-joon meets Kim Soo-mi again as a mother and son in this work. The two previously starred as father and son in the ‘Barefoot Kibong’ and ‘Family’s Glory’ series.
The video that Shin Hyun-joon added with the message overlaps the posters for ‘Ghost Cop’ from 2024 and ‘Barefoot Kibong’ from 2016. In both posters, Kim Soo-mi is lying on her son Shin Hyun-joon‘s back with a bright smile on her face, touching the hearts of those who see her.
The movie ‘Ghost Cop’ (directed by Kim Young-joon) is a family comedy about a cop who gains minor abilities after being struck by lightning out of the blue after failing to make money and getting entangled with his family and unexpected incidents.
Shin Hyun-joon plays the role of a cop who was a legendary cop but fell from grace due to one incident, and who was living with his mother with his daughter when he was struck by lightning out of the blue and developed minor abilities. Kim Soo-mi appears as a tough woman living with her son and only granddaughter, who are both famous for their delicious Sundae soup restaurant in the neighborhood. Jung Joon-ho appears as a gangster who is the main culprit in sending the main character, a police officer, to hell, and will show a different side of himself.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-mi was found in cardiac arrest at her home on the morning of October 25th and was transferred to Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, but eventually passed away. The cause of death was reported to be hyperglycemic shock due to diabetes and other chronic diseases.
