‘The Priests’ spin-off, the film ‘The Nuns’ starring Song Hye-kyo and Jeon Yeo-bin, has released its first poster and launch trailer ahead of its January release.

‘The Nuns’ is a film that tells the story of people who perform a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. It is the second story of the film ‘The Priests’, which captivated 5.44 million viewers and was evaluated to have opened a new chapter in Korean occultism.

The released first poster captures attention with the strong visuals of Song Hye-kyo as Sister Junia, whose strong eyes stand out in the blazing flames, and Jeon Yeo-bin as Sister Michaela, who is staring at the same place with eyes filled with suspicion and curiosity. The bold Junia who will do anything to save the boy, and Michaela who feels repulsion toward Junia but decides to help the suffering boy. The story that the two nuns will unfold raises curiosity.

The launch trailer that was released together heightens the tension from the beginning with music that increases immersion along with Sister Junia‘s line, “Have you heard of the 12 shapes?”. Then, the two nuns Junia and Michaela raise curiosity even further by foreshadowing that they will confront the 12 shapes that have reappeared in Korea, while Junia’s strong line, “You dirty spirits, leave now,” and her determined expression foreshadow a character with a strong personality, further enhancing the genre‘s appeal. In particular, the differentiated setting of nuns who are prohibited from exorcisms participating in the ritual is expected to captivate theaters in the new year, raising expectations.
