Following up from the film ‘Hidden Face’, where she showed off her daring exposure, actress Park Ji-hyun will meet audiences once again in the R-rated comedy ‘A Fairy Tale But It‘s Free’ in January next year. Although it is also a R-rated film, it will showcase a different charm from ‘Hidden Face’ by putting cheerful and cute comedy at the forefront.
Park Ji-hyun showed off her strong presence by starring in ‘Hidden Face’, the new film by ‘Master of Eroticism’ director Kim Dae-woo, which was released on the 20th of last month and is currently showing. She played the role of Mi-ju, who ends up in a cross-line relationship with Sung-jin (Song Seung-heon), the husband of her close senior friend Soo-yeon (Jo Yeo-jeong), who suddenly disappears one day. She digested daring full-body exposure and high-level sex scenes that are hard to find in recent commercial films. In line with this, she was also compared to Lim Ji-yeon in ‘Obsessed’, another representative work of director Kim Dae-woo, which also became a topic of conversation for its high level of exposure.
Regarding this exposure acting, Park Ji-hyun said, “I didn’t feel any great burden or worry,“ and “On the contrary, the setting in the play that someone is watching me made it more interesting because it gave me a sense of pleasure when I did things I hadn‘t experienced before. ”I found it appealing that I could vicariously satisfy my desires that I couldn’t express due to social and ethical restrictions through the character.“

The reason Park Ji-hyun received attention in ‘Hidden Face’ was not simply because of her exposure. She was also evaluated as having maximized the immersion and tension of the movie with her ambiguous expressions and unique mysterious atmosphere that made it impossible to read her inner thoughts. There were so many reactions that said, ”Park Ji-hyun was the ‘Hidden Face’‘s ‘hidden card’.“ Thanks to this, the movie received favorable reviews, maintaining a Golden Egg index of 91%, which is a rare score from actual audiences for a movie with significant exposure.
Park Ji-hyun will present the 19+ comedy ‘It’s a Fairy Tale But It‘s Free’ in January next year. The film tells the story of Danbi, who dreams of being a children’s book writer but is actually a government employee in charge of cracking down on pornography, who has no choice but to write a 19+ web novel and discovers an unexpected talent for writing. Park Ji-hyun plays the main character Danbi, while Choi Si-won and Sung Dong-il play the ace of the pornography crackdown team, Jeong-seok, and CEO Hwang, the godfather of the adult web novel industry, respectively.
Regarding this film, Park Ji-hyun said, ”I‘ve never done a comedy before. This is the film I came across when I was thirsty for comedy,“ and ”I took on the challenge with the mindset of showing the public a side of me that I had never shown before.“
