South Korea‘s representative animation ‘Run, Honey’ will present its first theatrical animation in celebration of its 40th anniversary in 2025.

The sequel to ‘Run, Honey’, which was greatly loved as a manga and TV animation, and its first theatrical animation ‘Bad Girl: Run, Honey’, has released two teaser posters featuring the main characters Honey and Na Ae-ri. ‘Run, Honey’ began as a manga serialized in the manga magazine ‘Treasure Island’ from the January 1985 to the June 1987 issue for a total of 30 episodes. In 1988, it was first aired as a TV animation on KBS and gained great popularity.

Hani, who lives alone in the attic of an apartment after losing her mother, meets teacher Hongdukke when she enters middle school and dreams of becoming a track and field athlete. The story unfolds around her longing for her parents and her rival Na Ae-ri’s competitiveness, capturing the hearts of many viewers.
The upcoming ‘Bad Girl: Run, Hani’ is a new theatrical original story that tells the story of Hani and Na Ae-ri as high school students. Expectations are high for the film to showcase Na Ae-ri‘s return as an even more vicious character and Hani’s return after an injury.

The two teaser posters released together with the announcement of the 2025 release feature Hani and Na Ae-ri running in a familiar alleyway that could exist somewhere in Korea. Through the appearance of the two main characters running down the street, expectations are high that the affectionate scenery of the Republic of Korea, where we actually live, will be detailed and recreated. In addition, the copy, ‘The heart-pounding run begins’, reflects the anticipation for the return of the legendary TV animation and the curiosity about the new original story for the theater, raising curiosity about what kind of story the main characters, who will return for the first time in 40 years for the theater, will bring.

In addition, the character Junabi, who appears in this new original theater story, draws attention. Curiosity is generated about what kind of activities Junabi will show as a new enemy who threatens Hani and Na Ae-ri. Existing characters such as track and field teacher Hong Du-gae and Hani’s boyfriend Lee Chang-soo will also appear, adding to the fun of this theatrical version‘s original story.
