This winter‘s one-of-a-kind family film, ‘Big Family’, is garnering rave reviews for its memorable scenes and lines that resonate with the audience.

‘Big Family’ is a family comedy about the owner (Kim Yoon-seok) of the dumpling restaurant ‘Pyeongmanok’, whose family tree has been cut off because of his son (Lee Seung-gi) who has become a monk, and the cute grandchildren he has never seen before visit him, forcing them to live together in an unimaginable and amazing way. The actors’ passionate performances and director Yang Woo-seok‘s “Taste of Words”, which was chosen by 10 million viewers for “The Attorney” and “Steel Rain”, are receiving favorable reviews for their lines and directing.

○ “You’ve worked hard”, “It‘s all my fault, huh?”

The scenes that audiences choose first are the ones that show the awkward father-son relationship between Ham Moo-ok (Kim Yoon-seok) and Ham Moon-seok (Lee Seung-gi). In particular, the father-son reunion at Lotte World is recalled as a scene where the two Ham families awkwardly talk in an amusement park full of dreams and hopes, conveying both laughter and sadness. In this scene, Ham Moo-ok and Ham Moon-seok’s realistic and calm lines such as “You‘ve had a hard time”, “It’s all my karma, you know” properly hit the audience‘s “laugh out loud” point.

○“If it’s going to be like this, let‘s just get it on the family register and sleep under the same blanket!”

The second best scene and line chosen by the audience is the tiki-taka chemistry between Ham Moo-ok and Ms. Bang (Kim Sung-ryung). The relationship between Ham Moo-ok and Ms. Bang (Kim Sung-ryung), which adds excitement along with comedy in the movie, shines in the scene where Pyeong Man-ok wraps ssam and puts it in Ham Moo-ok’s mouth at a company dinner. Mrs. Bang, the real power behind Pyeong Man-ok, who is the only one who can suppress Ham Mu-ok, also captivated the audience‘s hearts with the charismatic line, “If it’s going to be like this, let‘s get on the family register and sleep under one blanket!”

○“I want to see Mom and Dad”

The last famous scene and line come from Minguk and Min-seon, the siblings who appear as Ham Mu-ok’s grandchildren. The touching relationship between Minguk and Min-seon stimulates the audience‘s emotional points and conveys a different emotion from the Ham family members. In particular, Minguk’s line and scene where he carries Min-seon on his back and calmly responds to Min-seon‘s line, “I want to see Mom and Dad”, with “Let’s go”, conveyed heartbreaking emotions. The chemistry between the young but dependable older brother Min-guk and the lovely Min-seon is also a must-see point for watching ‘Big Family’ in theaters, adding even more strength to the word-of-mouth.
