A collaboration between star pianist Daniil Tripotov and the Berliner Philharmoniker will unfold on the Megabox screen.

Megabox (CEO Hong Jeong-in, Yong-seok Nam)‘s curation brand ‘Classical Society’ announced that it will exclusively screen ‘2024 Berliner Philharmoniker Gala From Berlin’ on January 4th at 7 PM. This year’s ‘Gala from Berlin’ will feature ‘Daniel Trifonov’, the ‘star pianist of our time’, garnering much anticipation from classical music fans around the world.

The ‘Berlin Philharmonic Gala from Berlin’ is the Berlin Philharmonic‘s final concert of the season, held every December 31st at the Berlin Philharmonia Hall. For classical music lovers, it is an annual highlight where they can see off the year and welcome the new year with wonderful classical music, and is very popular worldwide.

The ‘Gala from Berlin’ features world-class invited soloists such as Sains Villegas, Janine Jansen, and Jonas Kaufmann, showcasing fantastic chemistry with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. This year’s ‘Berlin Philharmonic Gala from Berlin’ will feature star pianist Daniil Trifonov, who is known for his smooth expressiveness and outstanding technique.

Daniil Trifonov has had a special relationship with the Berliner Philharmoniker since his first collaboration with them in 2016, when he was their resident artist for the 2018/19 season. He will showcase his fantastic chemistry with them at the ‘Berlin Philharmonic Gala from Berlin’ in 2024 through Brahms‘ Piano Concerto No. 2.

Kirill Petrenko, the principal conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestra, has taken to the podium for the ‘Gala from Berlin’ for the fifth time since taking office in 2019. Since his inauguration, Petrenko has worked hard to expand the orchestra’s diverse repertoire, and under his leadership, the Berliner Philharmoniker has achieved more powerful and rich musical results than ever before.

In this performance, the Berliner Philharmoniker will perform the captivating waltz from Strauss‘s opera Der Rosenkavalier and the powerful ‘Dance of the Seven Veils’ from ‘Salome’, leaving the audience deeply moved by a diverse repertoire including two contrasting pieces.

The ‘Berlin Philharmoniker Gala from Berlin’, which will powerfully open the new year 2025 with the fantastic melodies of Danil Trifonov and the Berliner Philharmoniker, will be held at 26 Megabox theaters nationwide on January 4 at 7 PM. It will be screened not only in regular theaters but also in various special theaters such as ‘Dolby Cinema’, ‘Dolby Atmos Theater’, ‘The Boutique’, ‘The Boutique Suite’.
