Actor Hyun Bin emphasized that he hopes the film ‘Harbin’ will convey even greater meaning in these chaotic times.
‘Harbin’, which will be released on the 24th, is a film that depicts the life-threatening journey of Ahn Jung-geun to Harbin in 1909 for independence activists and other activists. Directed by Woo Min-ho, who created ‘Inside Men’, ‘The Man Standing Next’, the film stars Hyun Bin, Park Jung-min, Jo Woo-jin, Yoo Jae-myung, Lee Dong-wook, and Jeon Yeo-bin.
At the press and distribution preview held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 18th, Hyun Bin said, “I looked up everything I could” in order to play the character of Ahn Jung-geun. “I looked up all the remaining information about Ahn Jung-geun, and I studied, thought, and imagined Ahn Jung-geun every single day while visiting the Ahn Jung-geun Memorial Hall. That repetitive process was necessary. From the time I was preparing until the very end, there wasn‘t a single day that I didn’t go through that process,” drawing attention.
Hyun Bin also expressed his hope that ‘Harbin’ would be a work that would give strength and courage to the audience amidst the turmoil of the times. He said, “Just like the independence fighters in the movie who faced adversity with conviction and took one step at a time, they achieved good results. I have no doubt that if we gather our strength and take one step at a time now, there will be a better tomorrow.” He added, “The overseas poster for our movie has the words ‘For a Better Tomorrow’ written on it. I think the phrase ‘Let’s go for a better tomorrow than now‘ is even more meaningful now. I hope that many people will watch the movie and gain courage and hope.”
