The movie ‘Firefighter’, which suffered through many twists and turns, including lead actor Kwak Do-won‘s drunk driving and a boycott movement related to director Kwak Kyung-taek’s younger brother, a member of the People‘s Power Party, has achieved the feat of surpassing the break-even point of 2.5 million moviegoers.
According to distributor Bypoem Studio on the 22nd, ‘Firefighter’ surpassed 2.5 million cumulative moviegoers as of 1:06 p.m. that day.
With this, ‘Firefighter’ has been named one of the top 5 Korean movies of the year, along with ‘The Outlaws’, ‘The Outlaws 4’, ‘Veteran 2’, and ‘Pilot’.
In line with this box office success, the cumulative donation amount for the ‘119 Donation Challenge’, in which 119 won per audience ticket is donated to the establishment of a national fire hospital scheduled to open in 2025, has also exceeded 300 million won.
