‘Hidden Face’ is a unique locked-room thriller that unfolds when ‘Soo-yeon‘s junior ‘Mi-ju’ appears in front of ‘Sung-jin’, who was chasing the whereabouts of his missing fiancée ‘Soo-yeon’, and when ‘Soo-yeon’, who was thought to have disappeared, is trapped in a secret space closest to them and witnesses her bare face being stripped away.

According to the Integrated Computer Network for Movie Theater Tickets, ‘Hidden Face’ has surpassed 1 million moviegoers as of 3:45 PM on the 22nd, mobilizing 1,014,000,000 moviegoers. This is the only record set among Korean movies released this year that are rated R-rated (abbreviated as RG). A meaningful achievement for Korean films that have been stagnant since ‘Tazza: One-Eyed Jack’ (2019). It is the first Korean film with a rating of 1 million to be released in the past five years.

The distributor’s analysis is that the groundbreaking acting transformation of Song Seung-heon, Jo Yeo-jeong, and Park Ji-hyun is belatedly attracting viewers as word of mouth spreads. In particular, the groundbreaking bed scene received a lot of attention even before its release, so there are various reviews. With various works set to hit the screens at the end of the year and in the new year of 2025, it remains to be seen whether ‘Hidden Face’, which has surpassed the 1 million mark, will continue to attract viewers through hot word of mouth, overcoming the cold wave with its niche strategy of being a green film.
