Actor Song Joong-ki shed tears during the GV (audience chat) for the movie ‘Bogota: Land of Last Chance’.

On the 12th, the GV for the movie ‘Bogota: Land of Last Chance’ (hereafter ‘Bogota’) was held at Megabox Seongsu in Seoul. Cast Song Joong-ki, Lee Hee-joon, and special guest Lee Sung-min attended the event.

Lee Sung-min concluded the GV that day by saying, “When I entered the parking lot, it was so empty that it broke my heart. It seemed like there was no one in the theater. There must be a reason, but it‘s really hard when there are no audiences in the theater. If a movie were to be released during that time, I’d really want to die”.

He continued, “But still, the actors are the ones who have to endure it, so please give us a lot of strength so that we can do well until the end of the movie and help us finish it well”, urging the viewers of ‘Bogota’.

Song Joong-ki said, “With GV, my schedule related to ‘Bogota’ is completely over. This is the last one. I‘m truly honored to be doing this last one with senior Sungmin.”

He continued, “These days, Korean films are in a really difficult situation. To be honest, I’m grateful just to have the film in theaters. That‘s why I’ve been promoting it harder than ever since it‘s been difficult for Korean films to be in theaters these days. I wanted to make it known and look good.”



Song Joong-ki said, “Even though I’m being criticized, I tried to make this situation better, even though it‘s not enough. I still want to thank everyone who came to see our film,” and emphasized, “You said the reality of film is difficult, but the role of actors is to create good content to comfort and make the audience laugh, so I will work hard to create good works and become a source of strength.”

Song Joong-ki then said, “I’m starting to cry as I talk. I‘m really grateful,” and put down the microphone as if his throat was choked up.

Meanwhile, ‘Bogota’ is a movie that depicts the story of Guk-hee (played by Song Joong-ki), who heads to Bogota, Colombia, on the other side of the world with new hope right after the IMF, and gets entangled with Soo-young (played by Lee Hee-joon) and Byeong-jang Park (played by Kwon Hae-hyo), the real powers in the Bogota Korean community. According to the integrated computer network for movie tickets sold by the Korean Film Council on the 16th, the movie ‘Bogota’ recorded a cumulative audience of 408,138 as of the 15th.
