Do Kyung-soo is taking on a series of ‘challenges’ in the new year of the Eulsa year. Following the release of ‘Unspeakable Secret’, which will be his first melodrama in his acting career, he will meet global viewers through the Disney+ drama ‘Piece of Cities’, in which he will take on a full-fledged villain role.

Through ‘Unspeakable Secret’, which will be released on the 28th of this month, Do Kyung-soo will portray the excitement of first love on the screen. In ‘Unspeakable Secret’, a remake of the Taiwanese film of the same name starring Jay Chou, he plays the role of Yoo-jun, a music student who falls in love with Jeong-ah, a secretive girl he meets in an old practice room on his first day of school. Won Jin-ah was chosen for the role of Jeong-ah.

In particular, she perfectly performed the splendid piano performance scene in the drama, and perfectly synchronized with the character of a genius pianist who had been famous overseas since a young age, drawing rave reviews from the media and critics at the press premiere.

Do Kyung-soo, who had no idea how to play the piano before filming this movie, said, “I was worried about the performance scenes because I didn‘t know how to play or read sheet music, but I practiced the songs that appear in the movie a lot so that the audience wouldn’t feel awkward watching it. I also looked up the gestures of actual pianists and tried to express them as much as possible.”

Director Seo Yoo-min, who directed the movie, said, “The first actor that came to mind when I saw the script was Do Kyung-soo,” and “Working with Do Kyung-soo was a miracle. He already knows how to act naturally,” he said, not sparing his praise.

Following ‘Secret That Cannot Be Told’, the global OTT (online video service) series ‘Piece of Cities’ is also scheduled to be released within the year. This drama, which is also highly anticipated as a new work by writer Oh Sang-ho, who wrote the revenge drama series ‘Model Taxi’ and the movie ‘The Outlaws 4’, which attracted 10 million viewers, depicts the bloody revenge of Tae-joong (Ji Chang-wook), a man who is unjustly implicated in a heinous crime by someone and ends up in prison.

Do Kyung-soo, who has mostly played good characters in his works with his characteristically clear image, plays the role of Yohan, who manipulates evidence and designs the real culprit, causing Tae-joong’s life to fall into the abyss. As his first villain role, he plans to show a cold and merciless new side that he has never shown before.
