Group NCT‘s Jaehyun will challenge himself as actor Jung Jaehyun in the movie ‘6 Hours Later You Die’. Expectations are high as to whether Jung Jaehyun’s challenge ahead of his military enlistment will elicit a fresh response from the audience.

On the afternoon of the 7th, a press conference for the movie ‘6 Hours Later You Die’ was held at CGV Yongsan I-PARK MALL in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Actors Jung Jaehyun, Park Joohyun, Kwak Siyang, and director Lee Yoon-seok attended the press conference that day.

Director Lee Yoon-seok said about adapting the original novel into a movie, “‘6 Hours Later You Die’. One of the short story originals, ‘6 Hours Later You Die’, was used as the title. Because of the cultural differences between Korea and the United States, there was a process of Koreanizing the film in order to preserve its reality during the adaptation stage. What I focused on was that the title had impact. Without prior information, I saw this work as a mystery thriller, but I thought it would be good to develop the two characters‘ journey into a road movie,“ he explained.

He then talked about his feelings on debuting as actor Jung Jae-hyun from NCT member Jae-hyun, saying, ”When I saw the movie poster on my way here today, it felt real. I’m feeling it in real time. When I first received the script, it was so fun that I watched the whole thing on the spot.“ Jung Jae-hyun, who will soon be enlisting in the military, caught everyone‘s attention by saying, ”I think it’s great to have this opportunity to greet you before my enlistment.“

Park Joo-hyun then talked about preparing for her character in this film, saying, ”The ability to see precognition is fantastical, but I didn‘t think our movie was a fantasy movie. I thought about how to approach the viewers in a realistic way. He drew attention by saying, “I tried hard to make the reaction represent the audience.”

Kwak Si-yang said about the reason he chose ‘6 Hours Later You Die’, “The reason I ended up doing this work was because of the director. The mise-en-scène of the director’s references really resonated with me. I‘m grateful for the parts where I could communicate well with the director, and it was fun to be able to film with a director I got along with well after such a long time. Since the movie is about time limits, I focused a lot on how to deal with the process of change.”

Director Lee Yoon-seok said about the casting story for ‘6 Hours Later You Die’, “I didn’t know about actor Jae-hyun, and I didn‘t know much about idols because I’d been in Japan for a long time. That‘s why I was able to meet him without any preconceptions. I met actor Jae-hyun not as an idol, but as a young man. At that time, I had a lot of good feelings,” he said.

He continued about actress Park Joo-hyun, saying, “Although actress Joo-hyun was in Japan, she had a lot of opportunities to come into contact with dramas. I thought she was powerful after watching ‘Extracurricular.’ Since this movie is about Jung-yoon, I was wondering who could be a stable actor who could lead the entire drama, and I thought that if I went with this friend, the movie would be able to flow smoothly.”

Lastly, when asked how he would act if he heard the story, ‘You Will Die in 6 Hours,’ just like the movie’s title, Jung Jae-hyun answered, “I don’t have the personality to believe much, so I don’t think I would believe it, but I think I would still come to see the movie,” drawing attention.

Meanwhile, ‘You Will Die in 6 Hours’ is a time-limited emotional mystery detective drama about ‘Jung-yoon’ (played by Park Joo-hyun), who hears from the death prophet ‘Jun-woo’ (played by Jung Jae-hyun) that she will die in 6 hours while walking down the street, and goes to find the culprit to change the predicted future. Opening on the 16th.
