Netflix original film ‘The Ran’, starring Kang Dong-won and Park Jung-min, recorded 7.5 million hours of cumulative viewing time (viewing time divided by the total running time of the film) in just three days since its release on the 11th, ranking third on the Netflix Global Weekly Chart in the non-English film category in its first week of release.

It was ranked in the top 10 TV shows in 58 countries including Korea, France, Portugal, Sweden, Brazil, and Japan.

‘The Ran’ is about Jong-ryeo (Park Jung-min), the son of the highest military family in Joseon who grew up together during the chaotic era of the Imjin War, and his servant Cheon-yeong (Kang Dong-won), who meet again as enemies as King Seonjo‘s (Cha Seung-won) closest military officer and volunteer army members.
