Actor Lee Seung-gi has shaved his head and transformed into a monk in director Yang Woo-suk‘s new film ‘Big Family’.

‘Big Family’, which will be released on December 11, is a family comedy about the owner (Kim Yoon-seok) of a dumpling restaurant ‘Pyeongmanok’ whose family lineage has been cut off because of his son (Lee Seung-gi) who becomes a monk, and the cute grandchildren he has never seen before visit him, forcing them to live together in an unexpected and amazing way.

Lee Seung-gi, who even shaved his head for this film, plays the role of Ham Moon-seok, the son of the owner of Pyeongmanok, a long-established restaurant in Seoul, who cuts ties with his father and becomes a monk. While he was receiving much love as a superstar monk, he became the subject of a shocking scandal when the fact that he had a hidden child was broadcast live on a Buddhist radio broadcast broadcast nationwide.

Director Yang Woo-seok said, “In order to portray the character of Ham Moon-seok, who is known as the son of a rich man, we needed an actor who was actually good at studying, good-looking, smart, tall, and perfect in many other ways. At that time, the actor who came to mind first was Lee Seung-gi.”

Lee Seung-gi said, “When I heard that actor Kim Yun-seok, whom I had always respected so much, was starring, I didn’t have much time to think about it. “If I thought of a good scenario, there was no reason to worry about shaving my head,” he said.
