While the movie ‘An Ordinary Family’ is receiving favorable reviews from both critics and audiences, the original author of the original novel on which the movie is based has also drawn attention by sparing no praise.

Herman Koch, the Dutch national author who wrote the original novel ‘The Dinner’, and Caldecott, the producer and copyright holder of the American version, did not spare their praise for the movie‘s solid story and delicate directing, saying, “It is an exemplary free adaptation, a very satisfying, immersive, and insightful film that has an independent presence.” They also expressed their gratitude and respect for director Jin-ho Heo, adding, “Above all, thank you so much for making such a great film.”

Meanwhile, the newly released stills contain the points of their rave reviews. The appearance of Jae-wan (Seol Kyung-gu), who shoots a gun, Jae-gyu (Jang Dong-gun), who looks at the opposite of a rational lawyer, Yeon-gyeong (Kim Hee-ae), who looks resigned, and Ji-soo (Soo-hyun) who looks at the case objectively conveys the immersion of the movie with just the stills, and adds basis to the message of Hermann Koch and the Caldecott Collection.

Meanwhile, ‘An Ordinary Family’ depicts four people who have been living with their own beliefs, seeing everything fall apart when they see the CCTV footage of their children’s crime scenes. Directed by Heo Jin-ho, who also directed ‘Christmas in August’, ‘One Fine Spring Day’, and ‘Astronomy: Ask the Sky’, the film stars Seol Kyung-gu, Jang Dong-gun, Kim Hee-ae, and Soo-hyun.
