CGV Ballet Performance ‘Swan Lake’ IMAX Screening

CGV, in collaboration with production and distribution company Wizonsen, will screen the ballet performance ‘Swan Lake - Paris Opera Ballet’ in IMAX for the first time.

‘Swan Lake’ is a fairy tale ballet set to the fantastic music of Russian composer Tchaikovsky and contains the love story of Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette. Since its premiere at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow in 1877, it has established itself as a representative ballet piece.

‘Swan Lake - Paris Opera Ballet’ to be screened at CGV is a performance by the Paris Opera Ballet in France and is the version of ‘Swan Lake’ by choreographer Rudolf Nureyev. This performance has become a hot topic as Park Sae-eun, a Korean principal dancer at the Paris Opera Ballet, plays the roles of the swan Odette and the black swan Odile. This is the first ballet performance to be screened in IMAX, and the large, clear screen and magnificent sound of IMAX are expected to provide a more immersive experience.

CGV is also holding an event to commemorate the release of ‘Swan Lake - Paris Opera Ballet’. Customers who watch ‘Swan Lake - Paris Opera Ballet’ in IMAX will be given a limited edition IMAX poster. Previously, on the 4th, ballerina Park Se-eun held a world premiere stage greeting before the release at CGV Apgujeong IMAX, which received a great response.

‘Swan Lake - Paris Opera Ballet’ will be shown from the 8th to the 12th at 10 IMAX theaters: CGV Gwangju Terminal, Daegu, Seomyeon, Apgujeong, Yeongdeungpo, Yongsan I‘Park Mall, Uijeongbu, Ilsan, Cheonan Pentaport, and Pangyo. It is scheduled to be screened in 2D from the 13th to the 19th, and the screening locations will be announced at a later date.
