The movie ‘Hidden Face’ is drawing attention by revealing classical music that elevates the quality of the work.
While ‘Soo-yeon’ was chasing after ‘Sung-jin’, ‘Soo-yeon’‘s junior ‘Mi-ju’ appears in front of ‘Sung-jin’, who was missing, and ‘Soo-yeon’, who was thought to have disappeared, is trapped in a secret space closest to them and witnesses her bare face being stripped away. The unique locked-room thriller ‘Hidden Face’ is expected to captivate the audience’s ears with classical music that elevates the appeal of the genre.
‘Hidden Face’, which unfolds unpredictably centered around orchestra conductor ‘Sung-jin’ (Song Seung-heon), cellist ‘Soo-yeon’ (Jo Yeo-jeong), and her junior cellist ‘Mi-ju’ (Park Ji-hyun), chose the music of Schubert, a German Romantic composer beloved for his beautiful yet sorrowful melodies, as its main theme. Schubert‘s masterpiece ‘Arpeggione Sonata’, as well as his Symphony No. 8 ‘Unfinished’ and Piano Impromptus No. 3, which are considered unfinished yet complete works, add to the mysterious atmosphere.
In addition, symbolic instruments will be given to each character to heighten the emotions of the characters and increase the audience’s immersion. The internal conflict of ‘Sung-jin’ due to the disappearance of his fiancée ‘Soo-yeon’ is dramatically expressed through the piano, while the emotional changes of ‘Soo-yeon’, who is later locked in a secret room, and ‘Mi-ju’, who takes her place, are dramatically expressed through the cello melody. In addition, the ‘Arpeggione Sonata’, which is the reason ‘Sung-jin’ and ‘Mi-ju’ are attracted to each other, flows in line with the dramatic relationship between the three characters, and classical music runs throughout ‘Hidden Face’, adding to the high-quality atmosphere and completing the thriller genre.
Meanwhile, the music for ‘Hidden Face’ was composed by music director Lee Jae-jin, who was the music director for the 10 million-viewer film ‘Spring of Seoul’ and worked with director Kim Dae-woo on ‘Obsessed’. As director Kim Dae-woo said, “When instinct and secrets collide, the atmosphere of classical music completes a more emotional explosion,” music director Lee Jae-jin heightened the complex relationships and tension of the characters through the classical genre. The classical playlist of ‘Hidden Face’, which adds power to the passionate development while facing the truth that has been revealed, can be viewed on the distributor NEW YouTube official channel.
‘Hidden Face’, a movie that adds fun to listening with classical music, will be released in theaters on Wednesday, November 20.
