Lotte Cinema will exclusively broadcast the 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Premier 12 ‘Korea vs. Japan’ match live in theaters.
Lotte Cinema, in partnership with sports broadcasting channel SPOTV, will broadcast the ‘Korea vs. Japan’ match live at Taipei Dome in Taiwan on Friday, November 15 at 7 PM. Professional baseball has enjoyed explosive popularity this year, surpassing 10 million spectators for the first time in professional sports history, and the excitement is expected to continue with the Premier 12 match. In particular, sports broadcasts in theaters are receiving great responses from sports fans as they provide a realistic and comfortable viewing environment as if watching directly at the stadium with large screens and magnificent sound.
Premier 12 is an international baseball tournament in which the top 12 baseball countries from around the world participate, and it is attracting attention as popular domestic players such as KIA Tigers‘ Kim Do-young, Doosan Bears’ Kim Taek-yeon, and Lotte Giants‘ Yoon Dong-hee are participating. Korea, which produced the ‘Tokyo Great Battle’ in the 2015 semi-finals against Japan and put on a memorable match in Korean baseball history, is aiming for its first championship in 9 years in this tournament. Korea, which lost to Taiwan on the 13th, must win this crucial Korea-Japan match, so expectations are high for a heated cheering match.
Lotte Cultureworks X-Con Team Manager Kim Se-hwan said, “Lotte Cinema has been consistently broadcasting sports games and creating a culture in which people gather in the theater to enjoy and cheer on sports,” and “We will continue to present diverse content in addition to sports in the future to provide a differentiated experience.”
