Member Park Jun-hee honestly stated that Ace, which debuted in 2017, is celebrating its 7th anniversary this year, and “The 7th year is a watershed for idol groups due to issues with contract renewals and changes in relationships between members within the team.”
He continued, “We still have a lot of thirst left. We think we are at the same level as other groups that have been together for 2 to 4 years. That is why we really want to quench that thirst. That‘s why we are in positive discussions with the company regarding contract renewal,“ he emphasized.
He also explained, ”We are making various preparations for the future. However, we are focusing on what we need to do right now. I think that’s how those days will pile up and produce good results. I will prepare while remembering my gratitude for what I‘ve done so far.“
Meanwhile, ‘Piñata’, Ace’s first full-group new album since ‘Gunbaekgi’, was inspired by the piñata, a doll used in children‘s festivals in the United States and Central and South American countries. It was interpreted as sealing away negative emotions and senses such as human sadness and pain, and expressed the process of liberating emotions within their ‘worldview’.
