‘K-pop signboard girl group’ Twice is embarking on a global campaign. With their new album to be released at the end of the year, they are aiming for a ‘double hit’ by simultaneously targeting the United States and Japan, the two major meccas of global pop music.

Twice will release their 14th mini album ‘Strategy’ on December 6th and will be hitting the jackpot this year filled with various activities such as solo and unit activities.

The title song ‘Strategy’ features famous rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who has garnered attention at the Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, and more, drawing attention. This is their second collaboration after Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Mamushi’ remix version in October.

Having previously topped Billboard’s main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ with their 13th mini-album ‘With Youth’ in February, TWICE is determined to further solidify their position in North America with this album. The new album release date has also been set for 2 PM ET on December 6th. This is to create favorable conditions for entering Billboard‘s rankings in time for Friday, when Billboard begins compiling its weekly chart sales figures.

They will also perform at ‘Amazon Music Live’ on the 22nd (Korean time) to boost the popularity of their new album. ‘Amazon Music Live’ is a streaming concert that airs live immediately after the Thursday game of the National Football League, one of the largest professional sports leagues in the United States. Previously, huge pop stars such as Ed Sheeran, A$AP Rocky, and Lil Wayne have performed on stage.

In Japan, they will appear on NHK’s ‘Kōhaku Uta Gassen’, a representative local year-end program. ‘Kōhaku Uta Gassen’ is a competition between men and women that brings together stars who have received much love in Japan throughout the year.

This is Twice‘s fourth time appearing on the program as a full group since 2017, and their sixth time overall if you include their appearance as the unit Misamo last year. This is the record for the most appearances among K-pop stars appearing this year, including Seraphim, Tomorrow x Together, and Ailitt.

The unit Misamo, consisting of three Japanese members Mina, Sana, and Momo, will also add to the group’s excitement. Having recently released their second mini album, ‘Haute Couture’, they will continue their dome tour until January next year.
