Singer-songwriter Ahn Ye-eun released her 4th mini-album [Story Bag] at 6 PM today (the 21st). It‘s been about 1 year and 9 months since the release of her regular album ‘Easily Written Stories’.
The title song ‘Carp King’ is an electroswing genre. It tells the story of a carp that suddenly appears from somewhere and tells stories. Ahn Ye-eun gave the carp, which was actually a dream she had, the character of a storyteller, and it took the format of the carp telling the story as the narrator. The addictive melody of the lyrics, such as “Choose, choose, catch, catch”, and Ahn Ye-eun’s unique singing style add to the excitement.
In the music video that was released with the song, Ahn Ye-eun shows various expressions and gestures while going back and forth between a palace and a street market. They showed off their cheerful charm by dancing in a group with dancers in a background that made use of the concept of a historical drama.
Including the title song, the new album includes ‘Inae’, which depicts the heart of a narrator who is left alone after a breakup and reminisces about a past love with variations in a plain singing style; ‘Geummdal’, a folk genre that projects the lonely heart of a narrator on the last day of the month; ‘That Love Was Not My Love’, which expresses the appearance of a narrator who has become enlightened in love with a rock metal sound; ‘It‘s Still Winter Here’, Ahn Ye-eun’s first bossa nova song that tells the story of how it‘s spring for everyone but me who is still winter; ‘Carp King (Inst.)’, an instrumental version of the title song ‘Carp King’, for a total of six songs.
Ahn Ye-eun participated in writing the lyrics and composing all the songs in ‘Story Bag’, and plans to prove her musical growth by challenging herself in various genres. The album will be available on various music sites starting at 6 p.m. on the 21st.
