As part of the ‘2024 Music Piracy and Performance Ticket Monitoring and Campaign Consignment Service’, the Korea Popular Music Performance Industry Association (hereafter, the KCOMPA) and the Korea Creative Content Agency (hereafter, the KOCCA) conducted a campaign to improve awareness of ticket fraud in the performance sector at large performance sites.

The KCOMPA conducted campaigns and events to improve awareness of ticket fraud at major performances, including ▲’Olivia Rodrigo‘s First Concert in Korea’ held at Jamsil Sports Complex on Friday, September 20, ▲Dream Concert’ held at Goyang Sports Complex on Saturday, October 19, and ▲‘Grand Mint Festival 2024 (GMF)’ held at 88 Lawn Yard for two weeks from Saturday, October 26.

This campaign was conducted to create a proper cultural environment to eradicate ticket fraud targeting audiences who visited the performance venues. It was prepared to inform and encourage the importance of creating a fair ticket distribution environment for performances.

During the campaign period, the Korea Music Copyright Association held various events such as a basic common sense true/false quiz on scalping tickets and spinning the roulette.

As part of the campaign, the campaign song ‘No, no (subtitle: scalping eradication song)’ sung by Jeong Dong-won, the public relations ambassador for the eradication of scalping tickets, was promoted, and short-form filming to eradicate scalping tickets was completed with famous artists who appeared at GMF2024 such as HYNN (Park Hye-won), Hong Isaac, Soran, CNBLUE, Kyuhyun, and ATEEZ. It will be sequentially released on the official SNS of KOCCA and the Korea Music Copyright Association in the future.

Chairman Lee Jong-hyun of the Korea Music Copyright Association said, “The biggest problem with scalping tickets is that when scalpers purchase tickets in large quantities, the audience cannot see their favorite performances because the tickets are sold out. The association said, “Through this campaign to eradicate scalping, we have taken the lead in improving awareness of the eradication of scalping and have made many citizens aware of the seriousness of scalping tickets.”

The Music Industry Association is an organization comprised of 46 member companies that organize, host, produce, and direct performances under the name of “popular music,” such as concerts, festivals, world tours, and domestic performances, and cooperate for the future of the popular music performance industry and the rights of its workers.
