On the 1st, Jeon So-yeon once again revealed the fact that she renewed her contract through her SNS, saying, “For 7 years, we‘ve experienced happy times, sad times, frustration, hope, and various emotions, joys and sorrows together, and I think the five of us have become stronger.”
She explained, “It took me a while to say this because we’re friends who grew up in different countries and met as adults,” but “But we all had the same thought that the five of us should be together.”
Jeon So-yeon said, “I‘m so happy and proud that I can be the leader of the team called (G)I-dle for a long time. Let’s be together as Neverever and I-dle for the rest of our lives,” expressing her deep affection for the fandom and other members, Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi, and Shuhua.

At the time, leader Jeon So-yeon said, “There was talk that the group would disband because my contract with the other members ended. However, not just me, but all five of us decided to renew our contracts together,” and explained, “We talked about it all before going up on stage today,” confirming the contract renewal as a whole group.
Based on Jeon So-yeon‘s appearance on ‘Produce 101’ in 2016, attention was focused on whether or not the whole group would renew their contracts as the exclusive contract periods of the members differed. In particular, some people even started to talk about disbandment after Jeon So-yeon rapped lyrics such as “My contract ends in November, who’s stopping me” during her world tour in August.
