What song did the public sing the most at karaoke this year?
According to the results of the ‘2024 TJ Karaoke Year-End Settlement’ announced by karaoke machine company TJ Media on the 10th, Lee Chang-sub‘s ‘Heaven’s Love’ was selected as the most popular song at TJ Karaoke this year. ‘Heaven‘s Love’ also set a new record for the longest stay at the top of the charts, topping the charts for 24 consecutive weeks from early April to the end of September.
Park Jae-jung’s ‘Let‘s Break Up’ and DAY6’s ‘You Were Pretty’ followed at 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. 4th place goes to Lim Jae-hyun‘s ‘Rain’s Rhapsody’, 5th place goes to izi‘s ‘Emergency Room’, 6th place goes to Nerd Connection’s ‘If Only You Were Here’, 7th place goes to Standing Egg‘s ‘Old Song’, 8th place goes to Day6’s ‘Be A Page’, 9th place goes to M.C the Max‘s ’Anywhere’, and 10th place goes to QWER’s ‘Worry Addiction’.
According to TJ Media‘s analysis of the top 300 chart, songs that became popular on YouTube showed a trending reverse run on the karaoke charts. The song that showed the biggest increase was Jo Young-nam’s ‘Hwagae Market’, which increased 17-fold in the number of times it was played compared to last year as a video of YouTuber Lee Seung-bin singing Hwagae Market went viral. Also, Spapa (Tak Jae-hoon)‘s ‘참 할야야’ was also counted as being sung six times more in karaoke rooms than last year after the video of the duet with I‘ll surpassed 4.5 million views on YouTube.
A TJ Media official said, “In the first half of this year, male ballads dominated the top 10 with 7 songs including ‘천상연’, and in the second half, band music such as DAY6 and QWER were the trend,” and added, “These days, the public’s tastes are changing really quickly. In response to this, we will provide the industry‘s best and largest number of new songs next year to increase user satisfaction.”
