Master Professional (MP) Han Sung-soo, founder of Pledis Entertainment, who created SEVENTEEN and TOURS, has received the Prime Minister‘s Award in recognition of his contributions to the global expansion of K-content.
MP Han Sung-soo was selected as the recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award in the Overseas Expansion category at the ‘2024 Korea Content Awards (hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency)’ held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 11th.
MP Han Sung-soo founded Pledis Entertainment and has been leading the globalization of K-pop by demonstrating his outstanding planning skills. He has discovered and nurtured ‘top group’ SEVENTEEN and ‘rookie of the year’ TOURS, and is currently in charge of the production of their albums.
MP Han Sung-soo‘s capabilities are also receiving great attention overseas.
Billboard, an American music media outlet, recently selected MP Han Sung-soo as one of the ‘2024 Indie Power Players’. Billboard explained the reason for the selection, saying, “Even after 10 years since their debut, SEVENTEEN is still making new leaps forward” and “MP Han Sung-soo has made the K-pop landscape more diverse and rich through Tours, which debuted this year, along with SEVENTEEN.”
