QWER beats New Jeans, Ive, and Espa to take first place in YouTube‘s Korean Most Popular Songs of the Year

The global video community YouTube has announced this year’s trend list. It includes popular topics, top creators, most popular songs, and most popular songs in shorts.

Among them, a whopping 9 songs on the 2024 YouTube Most Popular Songs in Korea TOP 10 were by female artists. The ranking was based on domestic YouTube views, including music videos, lyric videos, and art track videos. QWER‘s ‘Worry Addiction’, a band formed from fitness creator Kim Gye-ran’s YouTube series, took first place.

Aespa‘s ‘Supernova’ (2nd place) and (G)I-dle’s ‘I Hate Being Sick’ (4th place) were also ranked. ROSÉ‘s collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars, ‘APT.’, ranked 5th after receiving much love immediately after its release. Among boy groups, TWS’s ‘First Meeting Didn‘t Go As Planned’, which created the shorts challenge craze, was the only song to rank 6th.
