Lee Seung-yeol to release new song after 1 year… ‘너’(You are) to be released today (12th)
Musician Lee Seung-yeol will be releasing his new song ‘너’(You are) at 6 PM today (12th).
‘너’(You are) was completed with Lee Seung-yeol’s softly humming voice, a lyrical piano, and a heavy cello melody. In this new song, Lee Seung-yeol wanted to create a space for contemplation with a minimal and delicately tuned sound. Expectations are high for this new song, which is his first since ’Still Here‘ in November of last year, 1 year and 1 month.
The simple and easy lyrics that begin with ‘You make me happy’ expand the emotional range as the song progresses. The lyrics sought to convey an individual’s inner voice between the values we must protect and reality. Lee Seung-yeol also wrote in the liner notes of the new song, “Joy and sadness, light and dark, and life and death. No other words come to mind.”
Lee Seung-yeol, who debuted in 1994 with the band U&Me Blue, has released a total of six full-length albums to date, starting with solo albums in 2003. With each album, he has experimented with sounds ahead of their time and genres such as modern rock, blues, and electronica.
Lee Seung-yeol’s U&Me Blue’s second album, ‘Cry… Our Wanna Be Nation!’, as well as the Musician of the Year at the 2008 Korean Popular Music Awards and the Best Modern Rock Album and Song at the 2012 Korean Popular Music Awards.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung-yeol will hold a music appreciation event ‘Confession of a Hope Addict’ to commemorate the release of ‘You are’(You are) at the CJ Ajit in Gwanghungchang, Seoul on December 14. He plans to meet audiences through various performances in the future.
