On the 12th, SLL officially announced the establishment of a new music label, ‘UNCORE’, with YG PLUS, and will embark on a full-scale expansion into the music business beyond the existing production of dramas, movies, and entertainment content.
‘UNCORE’ is an idol planning company established under SLL, and its main businesses include music content production, performance planning, and music and album distribution. YG PLUS will support and cooperate with the expansion of the global fandom and systematic domestic and international activities.
The first artist of ‘Uncore’ is the debut group of the seven finalists from the survival audition show ‘PROJECT 7’, currently airing on JTBC. They plan to expand their areas of activity to music, albums, performances, and even IP business, starting with management activities in the first half of 2025.
In addition, ‘Uncore’ plans to strengthen its competitiveness as a K-POP entertainment agency and establish its position in the global market through broadcast projects following ‘PROJECT 7’ and its own new talent development.
SLL said, “The establishment of Uncore will be a big stepping stone for SLL to grow from its existing business structure centered on drama production and distribution to a global IP powerhouse,”and “We will internalize our music business capabilities and continuously secure artists through follow-up projects.”
Meanwhile, the label name ‘UNCORE’ was inspired by a microprocessor-related term that must be closely connected to the core to achieve high performance. This sees the fandom, which is the center of the music business, as the ‘Core’, and contains the will of the UNCORE label to faithfully play an important role between fans and artists.
