Group SEVENTEEN, which will celebrate their 10th debut anniversary next year, is challenging the ‘10 million group’ for the second consecutive year.

According to the domestic pop music chart Circle Chart on the 16th, SEVENTEEN‘s cumulative album sales from January to November were 9,761,390 copies. If SEVENTEEN sells 238,610 more copies in December, they will achieve the 10 million record this year, following last year. Given that their album sales have been consistent, there are predictions both inside and outside the music industry that they will easily sell 10 million copies.

SEVENTEEN has been continuously releasing various types of albums this year, achieving notable results on major charts both domestically and internationally. The best album ‘17 Is Right Here’ released in April has sold over 3 million copies despite being a compilation album whose tracklist is mostly filled with previously released songs. Members Jeonghan and Wonwoo’s unit single ‘This Man’ also sold 787,046 copies in its first week of release, setting a new record for first-week sales (one week after release) for a K-pop unit album.

In particular, SEVENTEEN‘s 12th mini-album ‘Spill the Feels’ released in October was the only album this year to sell over 3 million copies in first-week sales, solidifying their position as ‘album powerhouses’. The album has sold close to 4 million copies as of November. With the monthly cumulative sales of 500,000 copies of their 4th Japanese single ‘Expiration Date’ released last month added up, their 10 million mark is getting even closer.

Through their activities this year, SEVENTEEN has even been evaluated as having successfully increased their influence in North America, which had been relatively weak compared to their popularity in Asia. This is thanks to the great efforts they made to increase their local popularity, such as collaborating with famous American producer DJ Khaled for the title song ‘Spill the Feels’ ‘Love, Money, Fame’.

Thanks to this, they were able to win trophies at major American pop music award ceremonies, such as the ‘MTV Video Music Awards’’2024 Billboard Music Awards’. They will also be the first K-pop singer to appear on ABC’s year-end Disney special broadcast and perform a solo stage.

Next year, which marks their 10th anniversary, they plan to expand their territory to the South American and European stages based on this year‘s achievements. They have already confirmed their appearance at ‘Pal Norte’, the largest music festival in Latin America, to be held in Monterrey, Mexico in April next year.
