US Billboard, UK NME, Dazed… Global Praise for Rise
RIIZE (SM Entertainment) has achieved the highest ranking in Spotify‘s Korean year-end settlement for the world’s largest music streaming platform.
Based on Spotify‘s year-end settlement campaign ‘2024 Wrapped’, RIIZE recorded 6th place in the most-streamed album category in Korea with their first mini-album ‘RIIZING’ (RISING) released in June of this year, becoming the highest-ranking boy group this year and solidifying their title as ‘Undisputed Digital Powerhouse’, surpassing RISING.
Following that, ‘Impossible’ (Impossible) included in the album won the ‘2024 Radar Korea Top Song (Top RADAR Korea Song of 2024)’ announced by Spotify on the 16th, which is given to the most streamed song in a playlist curated by Spotify of songs by new artists, proving the interest listeners have in RISE.
Amidst the rave reviews sent to RISE from platforms and media around the world, RISE’s ‘Impossible’ was recently included in the ‘The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2024: Staff Picks’ released by Billboard in the US, drawing attention.
The UK‘s NME also included ‘The 25 Best K-Pop Songs of 2024 In the ’K-Pop Songs of 2024‘, ‘Impossible’ was ranked 7th, the highest ranking for a boy group, and it was highly praised, saying, “It is filled with endless ecstasy and undeniable joy. The driving force is RISE’s youthful energy, and the members‘ voices are filled with passion as if they are facing the best summer of their lives.”
In addition, British magazine DAZED selected RISE as one of the music figures in the ‘DAZED 100’ Asia region list, which highlights leading figures in each field, and introduced them as, “The fresh energy of Generation Z and performance ability have combined to establish them as K-pop’s brightest new star.”
