As the performance video for TWICE‘s Nayeon’s solo debut song ‘POP!’ (Pop!) has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, the group‘s global activities at the end of the year are also drawing attention.
The performance video for the title song ‘POP!’ from Nayeon’s first solo mini-album ‘IM NAYEON’ (I am Nayeon), released on June 28, 2022, surpassed 100 million views on YouTube at around 12 p.m. on the 19th. In response, her agency JYP Entertainment posted a congratulatory image on their official SNS channel and thanked fans for their great affection.
The ‘POP!’ performance video was loved along with the music video that surpassed 200 million views on YouTube for its addictive melody, Nayeon‘s refreshing and lively charm, and cool dance lines that gave off pleasant energy.
In addition to Nayeon’s great record, TWICE has also recorded 100 million views with a total of 24 music videos, including their debut song ‘OOH-AHH하게’ (Elegant) to ‘SET ME FREE’ (Set Me Free), 4 Japanese songs, and English singles ‘The Feels’ (The Feels) and ‘MOONLIGHT SUNRISE’ (Moonlight Sunrise), and is maintaining the title of ‘Most music videos with over 100 million views’ among female groups worldwide.
Nayeon garnered attention with a different charm from her solo debut work through her 2nd mini-album ‘NA’ (Na) released in June of this year. The title song ‘ABCD’ (에이비CD) showed Nayeon‘s diverse sides with confident and hip energy, and the album ranked 7th on the US Billboard main chart ‘Billboard 200’ on June 29th, demonstrating her potential as a solo artist by entering the top 10 with two consecutive works following her first mini-album ‘IM NAYEON’.
Attention is also focused on the year-end performance of TWICE, the group Nayeon is a part of. They ranked 5th on the ‘Top 10 K-Pop Artist Tour Revenue in 2024’, announced by Billboard Boxscore on the 18th (local time) as part of Billboard’s year-end settlement. This is the highest ranking among K-pop female artists, and TWICE has once again proven their global popularity by captivating fans with performances at large stadiums around the world, including Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa, as part of their fifth world tour this year, ‘TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR ’READY TO BE’.
With their 14th mini-album ‘STRATEGY’ released on December 6, they ranked 4th on the Billboard 200 main chart as of December 21, making it six consecutive albums to have entered the top 10 of the ‘Billboard 200’ starting with their 10th mini-album ‘Taste of Love’ in 2021, continuing the record of ‘Most Top 10s for a K-pop girl group’. On December 31st, she will appear for the fifth time on NHK‘s 75th ‘Kōhaku Uta Gassen’, Japan’s representative year-end special broadcast.
