Rocket Punch disbands, 4 members except Suyoon end exclusive contracts ‘Leave Woollim’ [Comprehensive]

Girl group Rocket Punch has disbanded and is going their separate ways.

On the 27th, Woollim Entertainment announced, “The exclusive contracts of our affiliated artist Rocket Punch members Yeonhee, Yunkyoung, Sohee, and Dahyun will end on December 31st.”. All members except Suyoon have decided to leave Woollim Entertainment.

The agency said, “We have discussed the future and direction of the Rocket Punch members for a long time, and after sufficient conversation, we have decided to end their exclusive contracts.”We would like to express our gratitude to Yeonhee, Yunkyoung, Sohee, and Dahyun for being our artists over the past time, and we will sincerely cheer them on in the future. I also want to express my gratitude to the fans who have always been by my side and given me strength without change,” she concluded her message.


Although the agency has not officially confirmed Rocket Punch’s disbandment, the members have personally announced the end of the group’s activities through handwritten letters. Immediately after the official announcement, all five members, Yeonhee, Yunkyoung, Sohee, Dahyun, and Suyoon, left their final goodbyes to their fans on their respective SNS.

Yeonhee said, “It breaks my heart to say such surprising things to Ketch (fandom). I hope that after reading our letter, you will be a little less sad and find new light in this writing,” and added, “We will continue to dream in some form.” He said, “My roots are Rocket Punch, and that won‘t change no matter what path I take in the future,” and added, “We will protect and make sure that the world we’ve created so far continues. I hope you will watch over us and be with us on our new journeys in the future.”

Yunkyoung said, “I‘m grateful and sorry to Ketchy,” and added, “Although it’s the end for Rocket Punch‘s Yunkyoung, I think this can be an opportunity for me to develop further based on what I’ve learned and experienced. Thank you for cheering me on and believing in me.”

Sohee said, “I will not forget all the moments that shined because of Ketchy, and I will continue to do my best in the future to become an even cooler adult. Thank you so much for protecting Rocket Punch and making it shine. I will also remember the existence of Ketchy forever and love them for a long time. ”I think our connections with our fans and members will continue even as we each go our separate ways,“ she confessed.

Dahyun said, ”I‘m so happy and grateful that I was able to grow up with such wonderful members and Ketchy for half of my teenage years,“ and confessed, ”I’m going to learn a lot at my new school and try out different things. I won‘t forget the precious times we had together and will work hard to move forward.“

Rocket Punch debuted on August 7, 2019, as a six-member girl group consisting of Yeonhee, Yunkyoung, Sohee, Dahyun, Suyun, and Juri. They released ‘Bim Bam Boom’, ‘BOUNCY’, ‘Ring Ring’, ‘BOOM’, ‘JUICY’, etc. Yeonhee, Suyoon, and Juri participated in Mnet‘s idol re-debut survival show ‘Queendom Puzzle’ last year, and Yeonhee was selected as a member of the project group Elles Up.
