Rapper Noel (Jang Yong-jun), the son of former People Power Party lawmaker Jang Je-won, strongly criticized the news reports of the issuance of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol.
When a media outlet shared the fact that an arrest warrant had been issued for President Yoon Seok-yeol through the official SNS account, Noel commented, “This is really X disgusting. Close the page.” He then did not hesitate to make extreme remarks such as, “Colorful instigation and Li Zhaiming,” and “XXX.”
“Li Zhaiming” is a Chinese pronunciation of the name of Democratic Party of Korea leader Lee Jae-myung, and is an expression used by those who criticize the leader as a “ministry of China.” Netizens are divided in their opinions regarding Noel’s remarks, with some saying, “He crossed the line,” and others saying, “It’s his own judgment,” and are debating for and against.
Noel‘s father, Rep. Jang Je-won, is close to President Yoon and served as Chief of Staff when President Yoon was the president-elect.
Noel appeared on Mnet’s ‘High School Rapper’ in 2017, but dropped out midway due to controversy over conditional meetings. In 2019, he was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison with 2 years of probation for drunk driving. Then, two years later, he was sentenced to 1 year in prison for drunk driving without a license and assaulting a police officer, and was released in October 2022.
Meanwhile, on the 31st, the court issued an arrest warrant for President Yoon, who is accused of sedition due to the ‘12·3 Martial Law Incident’.
