Band 2Z, first comeback after member reorganization, new album release on January 9th
Band 2Z is back.
According to their agency GOGO2020 today (31st), 2Z (Hojin, Newborn, Junghyun, Junon, Beomjun) will release their eighth EP ‘Glorious Youth’ on January 9, 2025 at 6 PM.
This album contains a total of 4 tracks: ‘Gise’, ‘Something Special’, ‘Can‘t Sleep To You’, ‘Summer or War’. The title song ‘Something Special’ presents a new spectrum that existing rock bands do not have, and the double title song ‘Gise(氣勢)’ plans to provide diverse enjoyment with a lyrical melody contrasting with the dynamic sound.
The album features music director Jeon Chang-yeop, who has been in charge of music for numerous popular drama OSTs such as ‘My Love from the Star’, ‘Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim’, ‘The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family’, and ‘The Judge from Hell’, as the new producing lineup.
This album in particular holds special meaning as it is the first album to be released after the member reorganization. Guitarist Ji-sub, who had been with the team since their debut, left the team due to health reasons. NUVorn, who is skilled in guitar sessions, composing, and producing in the studio, has joined 2Z as a new member.
In addition to the member change, 2Z, who confirmed their collaboration with Star Nest, plans to achieve greater musical growth through this collaboration and entering the global stage.
Meanwhile, 2Z officially debuted in the music industry in January 2020 with their first album ‘We Tuzi: (위 투지)’. They have been actively promoting, releasing a total of 14 albums and about 20 songs over the past two and a half years. Starting with their first overseas tour in Brazil and Mexico in 2022, they continued their global stage with tours in Japan and the United States, and performances in Taiwan and Thailand. Also, this year, they have exerted a positive influence through a perfume donation project with a visually impaired perfumer and a performance at the Jeongsim Women’s Information Industry School.
2Z said, “2024 was a year in which we were deeply moved by the fact that our existence can be used meaningfully somewhere in this society. In 2025, we want to change the increasingly harsh world even a little through a positive influence through music.”
