SHINee Onew Comeback, Producing All Songs → Participating in Lyrics Writing

Group SHINee member Onew will release his 4th mini album ‘CONNECTION’ today (6th). He will continue his ‘hard work’ in the new year by releasing a new album about 4 months after the release of his 3rd mini album ‘FLOW’.

The title song ‘Winner’ is a song in which the vintage drum sound is the main theme, along with the guitar and keyboard, leading the flow of the song. The strong band sound in the chorus is the highlight, and it contains the message that ‘We are all Winners’ in any situation. Lyricist Seo Ji-eum, who has produced many hit songs including Onew, participated in the lyrics, increasing the perfection of the song.

The music video that will be released along with the sound source was filmed entirely on location in Prague, Czech Republic. With the album‘s main theme of ‘connection’, the fragmented track preview videos are connected to form a single story. In an exotic landscape, you will see scenes that remind you of your present or past self, and summon memories that everyone has.

In addition, this album includes a total of 6 songs, including ‘Promise You’, which brings out the precious feelings toward one’s mother, who is like a shadow and yet easy to forget; ‘Boy’, which recalls one‘s childhood full of dreams with sampling reminiscent of 70s disco music; ‘Gradation’, which metaphorically expresses the feelings of being in love and has lyrics that feel like watching a musical; ‘Conversation’, which takes a look at the lack of communication that many people experience as the use of smart devices has become the norm; and ‘Manse’, which sings about the dual feelings of wanting to go out despite claiming to be a loner in a crazy world.

‘CONNECTION’ is an album that emphasizes the organic connection between Onew’s inner and outer self. Following his third mini album ‘FLOW’, Onew participated in producing and writing lyrics for all the songs in ‘CONNECTION’, adding sincerity. The album will be released today (the 6th) at 6 PM through various music sites.
