Girls‘ Generation member Taeyeon has directly expressed her dissatisfaction towards SM. This is her second dissatisfaction revelation following Red Velvet’s Wendy‘s revelation.
Taeyeon said through a fan communication platform on the 6th, “I wanted to put on a great performance and was very enthusiastic about singing two or three songs, so I told the company to prepare and was waiting... but to cut to the chase, they didn’t prepare so I ended up not being able to do it at all.”
The stage Taeyeon was referring to was SM Entertainment‘s 30th anniversary concert. Earlier, SM announced that they would be holding the ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2025’ Seoul concert at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on January 11th and 12th.
The lineup for the concert included various artists under their respective agencies, including Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, as well as aespa, RISE, NCT WISH, nævis, and Raiden.
However, news spread that Taeyeon and Wendy would not be attending the SM concert, and curiosity was focused on the reason for their absence.
Taeyeon said, “It’s definitely not that I don‘t have the motivation or don’t want to do it... I just want to be sincere and love the stage and do my best, but they haven‘t helped me with that, so I’m seriously thinking about it. What on earth is going on? I‘m saying this to Sowon in case you misunderstand me even a little,” expressing her dissatisfaction toward SM, drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Wendy also stirred controversy by saying on her fan communication platform, “You may or may not have seen the notice, but... the conversation with the company happened over a month ago, and the notice was only posted today,” seemingly raising an issue with the company’s communication methods.
