This year, the moves of the ‘K-pop representative girl crush’ are not ordinary.
Baby Monster has predicted that they will be crowned K-pop‘s ‘first steady seller’ for the new year. The title song ‘DRIP’ from their first full-length album released in early November last year is the basis for this, and it has been showing a ‘sky rise’ on various major K-pop charts since the beginning of the year.
According to their agency YG Entertainment, the title song ‘DRIP’ from Baby Monster’s first full-length album recently soared to 10th place on Melon‘s ‘Hot 100’. They also ranked 8th on another platform, Bugs, and are breaking their own records every day on major domestic music charts such as Genie, Flo, and Vibe.
Both inside and outside of K-pop, people are saying that Baby Monster’s overwhelming live performance and stage presence are the ‘triggers’ that have once again led to a rise in the music charts. Recently, they appeared on the ‘2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon’ and sang the popular song ‘Drip’ with their signature hand-mic live performance, earning rave reviews from their global fandom.
In fact, Baby Monster‘s ‘Gayo Daejeon’ live clip posted on the SBS official YouTube channel on December 25th last year attracted attention by garnering well over 5 million views. Following YG’s senior girl group 2NE1, who appeared at the same event, this is the second highest figure, and it is especially meaningful as they have proven their strong topicality despite being a rookie group performing their first year-end stage since their debut.
Baby Monster will be opening their first world tour, ‘Hello Monsters’, at KSPO DOME in Seoul for two days on the 25th and 26th. Their first world tour since their debut will continue to North America, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok, etc.
