Kye Hoon → K-Zoo ‘JYP‘s new artists’ Kickflip introduction video released
Kye Hoon, Amaru, Donghwa, Juwang, Minje, K-Zoo, and Donghyun of JYP Entertainment’s (hereafter JYP) new boy group Kickflip shared their thoughts on their debut and expressed their determination.
JYP released individual introduction videos on Kickflip‘s official SNS channel at midnight on the 8th. In this teaser, Kye Hoon, Amaru, Donghwa, Juwang, Minje, K-Zoo, and Donghyun honestly showed their true selves ahead of their debut and revealed their bold aspirations.
Leader Kye Hoon, who entered JYP in 2016 as first place in the open audition and spent nearly 10 years as a trainee. He said that the process of running to achieve his dream was not all that difficult, and “I was able to become the strong person I am today because of those times.” Amaru explained that writing lyrics is what she likes the most, saying, “Language has never been an obstacle to expressing my thoughts,” raising expectations for her potential as a lyricist.
Donghwa, who likes to “show myself” through music, dance, singing, and fashion, introduced the team by saying, “I’ve recently become interested in vintage items. I like them because they have traces of time, are unique, and are not common. Our team also has a bit of a vintage feel.” Joo Wang, who appeared wearing headsets, showed off his emotional charm by saying, “When I walk while listening to ballads, my mind feels at ease. I also want to become an artist who can provide relaxation to others.” Minje, who vaguely liked music itself, expressed his excitement by saying, “I’m excited and nervous that I can stand on a stage that I’ve only imagined.”
Kickflip’s youngest line showed off their bubbly confidence. K-Ju asked a cheeky question, saying, “Your usual appearance and the way you dance are completely different in an instant. But aren’t you cool even in your usual state?” The youngest, Donghyun, expressed his well-founded confidence by saying, “Practicing like crazy is my unique weapon. Maybe I‘m the ‘kick’ of Kickflip?”
Kickflip will make their official debut on the 20th with the release of their first mini-album, ‘Flip it, Kick it!’. Prior to that, they pre-released the music video for the track ‘Yeah Yeah’ on the 6th, and as of the 7th, the music video ranked 9th on YouTube’s music video trending worldwide and 3rd on YouTube‘s most popular videos.
The team name ‘Kickflip’ refers to the difficult technique of spinning the board 360 degrees with the tip of their toes. The Kickflip members who will break out of the egg and come out into the world are expected to be unconstrained by the past and show new activities, as if they were turning the board once and moving forward.
