Jennie, Billboard Magazine Cover “Upcoming Solo Album, A Battle With Myself”

BLACKPINK‘s Jennie graced the cover of Billboard Magazine, an American music media outlet.

On the 9th (local time), Billboard published an article titled “‘A Battle With Myself: Jennie, An In-Depth Look into the Making of a Solo Album” on their official homepage, along with Jennie’s pictorial images and an interview from the Billboard Magazine January issue.

Billboard focused on Jennie and introduced her by saying, “The world knows Jennie from BLACKPINK, but Jennie‘s (solo) debut album, which will be released soon, will allow people to get to know and show their true self.”

Jennie said, “I started listing the things I wanted in life and figuring out exactly what my next step was or setting priorities. As soon as I did that, I thought, ’I haven‘t achieved my dream of releasing a solo album yet.’” I wanted to satisfy myself by achieving that goal,” she said, sharing various stories including the process of founding OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) and signing a partnership with Columbia Records.

She said, “I want to complete myself as Jenny Ruby Jane,” and foreshadowed her new album by saying, “You’ll know exactly what I mean when the album comes out, but I rap here, sing here, do harmony here, and talk here, so the overall sound is something that I like all the songs because I play with various genres and elements.”
